Once you get over the shock of how jaw-dropping, incredibly gorgeous pop artist
Adam Tyler is, you will learn to fall in love with the addictive music he has been crafting over the past couple of years including gems such as "Pull the Trigger" and "Like A Drug". It is his impeccable taste in music, and yes maybe that devilish look in his eyes, as to why I decided to interview the singer back in 2012. From his debut album,
Shattered Ice, to his most recent single "
Fade Into the Light", Tyler is really coming into his own as a confident act with an impressive voice to go along. While he is busy prepping his next studio album, the artist has unleashed a new dance track titled "Concrete" to get fans and critics ready for what is about to come.
Paired with a "best of" montage video definitely worth watching, the new song immediately comes off as something the artist has not released before. There has been pop and dance influences in Tyler's releases since he first stepped on the scene, but "Concrete" represents a Euro-dance, EDM experiment that radiates confidence and determination even though the lyrics of the song paint the artist as somewhat of a cold-hearted lover. This I can never believe! "If you're craving my hand, understand, that it won't happen tonight," Tyler sings before the track reaches the chorus where he admits that love is just a simple word to him.
While Tyler may be playing hard to get with his new release, it's clear that he is taking his music down a different direction with his upcoming EP and album and it is working in his favor. "Concrete" is a solid effort, strong and packing a lasting impact long after it comes to an unfortunate end. At times, to be honest, production does become a bit overwhelming, masking the artist's vocals which I wish would have been the true main highlight, along with the slight "rap" verse Tyler delivers towards the end of the track, but it is only one slight, nit-picky piece of criticism, in the song's path to greatness.
My copy of
Shattered Ice is praying for a break, as it constantly spins in my car stereo, so any sign of a new physical release from Tyler is constantly teasing my senses. Get familiar with Adam Tyler, his time to shine is fast approaching. Listen to "Concrete" and watch all his hard work in the accompanying video!
