The Latest Twist in Justin Bieber's Shakespearean Drama Involves Hailey Baldwin

Who are the great couples? Rosalind and Orlando? Romeo and Juliet? Selena and Justin? Arguably the latter have given us more than Shakespeare ever could. The will they, won't they of it all, the push-and-pull of their love, and over so many years—all serialized and with pictures. And the quotes! The anonymous quotes! Like this one, told to Entertainment Tonight in mid-April: "It's been a weird few weeks for Selena. She's tired of taking on other people's dramas and just wants to continue focusing on herself and going to church is a big part of that. She knows the paps will be there and make a whole thing of her and Justin having a 'run-in,' but it's not like that, they're fine." Tell me, could the Bard ever have written that?

Probably not; he never knew what "paps" were. But there's been another development in this tale told by an idiot: Bieber and his former girlfriend Hailey Baldwin went on a trip to Miami together. They attended VOUS Church Conference on Saturday and Sunday. They dined at Casa Tua and bore the sound and fury of LIV at Fontainebleau together until 3:00 a.m., according to E! sources.

What does it all mean? It could signify nothing. They could be two old friends who decided to attend the Jesus convention together, and then go out for a night together, like old friends would do in Miami. Or they could have rekindled something of what they had before, when Bieber was once before off-again with Gomez. There was some hand-draping and flirtatious looks in the pictures.

And yet, she told The Times U.K. last month, "Justin and I were friends for a long time. I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends. Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else, but that just happens when you're 18, 19. It was what it was. We went through a long period of time when we weren't friends. We didn't speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on. We've moved past that."

Baldwin is now 21, and apparently wiser, but who knows what tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow will bring.
